What is the main mission of American Catholic Church nowadays?
The main mission of the Church is what it has always been which is the salvation of souls. However, I think how it is completing that mission has changed. Before, people believed and lived their faith and so since they were already filled with the faith, they did good works. That I think has changed. Unfortunately, the balance of faith and works failed and now there is a strong focus on the works and less on the faith in many Catholic communities. This places the cart before the horse.
