Service for Peace in Angola

More than 2.000 Christians in Luena, eastern Moxico province, attended on Sunday a God thanks giving ecumenical service for peace and national reconciliation in Angola, a session presided over by the local diocese bishop, Gabriel Bilingui.
The event organised by the provincial commission of the Inter Ecclesiastic Committee on Peace (COIEPA) aimed at marking the second anniversary of the Peace and National Reconciliation Day (April 4).
The service started with God praising, preaching and chants to peace appealing to the Angolans to forget the cruel experiences of the past.
The Catholic bishop, Gabriel Bilingui, who closed the mass, said this anniversary is a new era for the country and a hope for better living, justice and dignity for the sons who have suffered so much.
The service was attended by members of the local Government, representatives of political parties, traditional authorities and population in general.
