You are a member of our Family. That is the reason why I must tell you a wonderful Family story. You must remember that our dear Emeritus Bishop Dom Joao Hipolito de Moraes died on November 7th, 2004. Dom Joao was the Father of Cancao Nova. He received our newly born Community with open arms, back in 1978.
In fact, we were a just like a newly born baby and we needed everything, especially the protection of a Father. It was extremely difficult at that time, for Dom Joao himself, to understand that new reality.
We were the first Community of Life in Brazil. We did not even know about similar Communities around the world. Besides that, we were a group of young men and young women living with me in Community. Many people found it strange. It was something new and extremely different, especially during the 70
